Key Discussions & Decisions:

I. Scribe Summit Debates

Cor's Debate Offer: Abraham reported that Cor agreed to a debate, but only one, and requires a knowledgeable opponent with strong speaking skills. The suggested topic is whether all Heads of Council (HoC) and Magistrates should be men, with women taking advocate positions, reflecting a rule Cor observes in his city.
- Kati Evans was asked to debate Cor, given her 15 years as a Magistrate and knowledge of Gor. She will consider it, noting she generally agrees with Cor but could defend exceptions.
- Myriam-alyah Spires expressed intimidation by Sir Cornelius but suggested practicing with less intimidating opponents.
- Abraham clarified the debate would be In-Character (IC), meaning direct quotes from scrolls are not allowed. Each debater would have an introduction, a closing, and two statements, with a judge.
Number of Debates:
- Initial discussion revolved around one debate versus three topics over three days.
- Vote: A vote was held to have more than one debate. The motion passed with votes from Myriam, Shar, Kati, and El.
Proposed Debate Topics:
- Topic 1 (Confirmed for Cor's debate): "Since it's a man's world, all HoC and Magistrates should be men, with women taking advocate positions."
- Topic 2 (Proposed by Kati): PRAETOR in the scribes (advisor) or warriors (ruler).
- Topic 3 (Proposed by Abraham): Whether scribes or merchants should be merchant magistrates, as this varies by city. This topic was well-received.

II. Scribe Summit Scheduling & Logistics

Debate Timing: Trygg raised concerns about the Friday 4 PM debate slot (1 AM in Europe).
- Abraham clarified this was a placeholder.
- Trygg suggested midday (10 AM - 2 PM at the latest) for big events.
- Myriam stated that Hermies' initial commitment for the opening ceremony and new Wisdom Hall (a 3-hour event) took prime time slots.
- Trygg volunteered to speak with Hermies about adjusting his 3-hour opening event to a shorter blessing, if possible.
- If Cor debates, his session can be set early (9 AM) or late (5 PM).
- If there are three debates, possible times include Lecture 12 (10 AM) and Lecture 28.
- Friday lecture slots 2 or 7 are open.
Summit Location: Abraham stated they would "not do it there again" (referring to Hermies' sim) for future events, indicating a desire for a more neutral location.

III. Scribe Summit Participants & Contributions

Debaters: Need to secure debaters for the additional topics. Kati is considering debating Cor.
Lectures/Quizzes: Myriam-alyah invited attendees to propose lecture or quiz topics.
Teachers: More teachers are needed for the Summit. Kati is working on a presentation, Myriam may present, and Abraham is holding back for now. Trygg shared a list of previously presented topics that could be repeated.
DJ for Sunday: Charlotte is dropping out of SL, creating a need for a DJ for Sunday's event. Myriam-alyah knows someone she can ask.

Announcements & Reminders:

FC Ceremony: Abraham invited all scribes to an FC (Free Companion) ceremony tomorrow (Thursday) at 10 AM at Varn. This is a scribes-only event.
Next Month's Meeting: The next monthly meeting will be held in Tyros.
Port Kar & Port Victoria: Both ports have closed. Venna is reportedly reopening.
Active Scribes: The caste now has over 100 active scribes.
Mock Debates: El and Bea were commended for their excellent mock debates yesterday.
Scribe Summit Poster: Myriam-alyah distributed the Scribe Summit poster, created by Abraham's Intended. Trygg requested and received the full-permission texture to send out.
Advertising: Advertising for the Scribe Summit is set to begin in one month.

Action Items:

Kati Evans: Give thought to debating Cor. Write a summary of the meeting for her blog.
Myriam-alyah Spires: Pass out the calendar. Ask her contact about DJing on Sunday.
Trygg Tyran: Speak with Hermies about adjusting the timing of his opening ceremony for the Summit. Send out the list of previously covered topics.
All Attendees: Suggest lecture/quiz topics for the Summit. Look for leads on a Sunday DJ.

And also I was concerned that most of the scirbe groups had most of their members gone to dust
