2. Scribe Summit Logistics (Target: September 25–27 / Feast of Se'Kara)

• Cryptology Course Restructuring: Lady Elphie (Oasis of Lame Kaiila) initially proposed a intensive 3-part Cryptology course with homework. Due to summit scheduling constraints, the table agreed to ask her to condense this into a single, one-ahn presentation overview, offering the full curriculum at a later date.

• Summit Speakers & Topics:

  • Sir Aldae will present two sessions covering Gorean Language and Time.

  • Lady Jessica and Sir Lion are confirmed as guest speakers, with Jessica handling a course on journalism.

  • Trygg Tyran distributed a scroll listing past presentation topics from prior summits and the En'Kara Sardar Fair to inspire additional volunteer speakers.

• Summit Survey: Scribes are reminded to submit their feedback surveys to Trygg or Myriam to finalize executive summit decisions. Three promotional posters are currently available for distribution to local libraries and courthouses.

3. Academic & Educational Updates

• Lara College Apprentice Classes: Following the closure of Port Cos, Skylar announced she has been requested by Marcus to teach a foundational 10-lesson basic apprentice curriculum at Lara College. Students completing the final examination will receive a basic scribe certificate.

• The Circle (Port Olni): Lady Kati Evans announced the relaunch of educational tracks open to all free and slave citizens alike.

  • Friday Lessons: "Ink and Iron — The Scribes, The Law, and The Bureaucracy" (8:00 AM & 4:00 PM).

  • Saturday Lessons: "War Against Death — The Physicians, The Serums, and The Truce" (8:00 AM & 4:00 PM).

  • A potential late-evening session is under consideration. The curriculum may be condensed into a single format for a future Summit presentation.

4. Caste Operations & Research Debates

• The Cipher Key of the Mind: An administrative discussion emerged from BB Arliss regarding cross-disciplinary operations between Scribes and Physicians, specifically regarding chemical memory induction and retrieval.

• Fingerprint Identification Protocols: Driven by an excerpt from Assassin of Gor, the group discussed the historical precedent of Scribes taking slave fingerprints following a Physician's examination. BB Arliss was assigned to research this topic further to prepare a public-speaking presentation for the upcoming Summit.

5. Merchant Trade & Upcoming Conferences

• En'Var Market (Isfahan): Sabayna announced the fourth consecutive staging of the regional market on the final weekend of June. The focus will bring together various medicine and herb merchants (including Ladies Bea, Carola, Khi, and Shyriny) to review product lines and streamline the Gorean Merchants Association (GMA) physician supply chain.

• "Homo Viator" Conference: Melampus (Isfahan Initiate) is currently organizing a formal academic conference later this year regarding pilgrimages as intercultural phenomena. A formal Call for Papers is expected shortly.

6. Next Meeting

[08:17:13] Myriam-alyah Spires (noirnyte.spires): I have been advised by Lady Elphie of the Oasis of Lame Kaiila that she will be doing Cryptology Lesson in 3 parts so that anyone who attends all three of them will be qualified in using the skill to a fairly standard level but she said there would be homework (which i laughed about)

[08:18:00] Myriam-alyah Spires (noirnyte.spires): It amused me to imagine people actually learning at the summit, but i wanted to check that is okay? or should she run them outside of the summit?

I think it is an interesting field of study, coded communications that is.  The only thing that concerns me would be the timing. That would take quite a bit of time. And the homework issue might cause problems. What do the rest of you think?"

[08:24:35] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran): "I'm wondering if for the purposes of the summit that she could be persuaded to condense the class into a one ahn presentation, then offer the full course at a later date. What do you think about that, Myriam?"

[08:26:21] Myriam-alyah Spires (noirnyte.spires) that was my thought, the uptake might be lower if she tries to squeeze it all in, Indeed, I will ask her to do an overview at one of the sessions. I will ensure there is a poster for other lessons available and who to contact, If anyone teaches something do let me know. *nods* .... Sir Aldae has said he will do two lessons, on Gorean Language and Time,  and there are two from Lady Jessica and Sir Lion who i have also asked to be our guest speaker.

[08:30:42] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran): "Hmmm, that is interesting. The only method that I know of is to tatoo a message on the head of a slave and send him or her off to deliver it. But it sounds interesting to me."

I would love to see the scribes at this table step up to present a class or discussion, so be thinking of ideas of topics you may wish to present." He passes a scroll around the table. "I prepared a list of topics presented at the summits and at the En'Kara Sardar Fair over the past two years. Take a look at it and let Myriam know if anything strikes you as a presentation idea."

[08:38:53] Myriam-alyah Spires (noirnyte.spires): Well i think the scribe would have to oversee, but they could be added to the slave papers and not all slave papers are for kennel slaves.

[08:39:53] Skylar (skylar.bahram): "If it is to be implemented into the slave exam, I would assume the responsibility would fall on the physicians."

[08:40:50] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran): "All of our slaves, privately owned or kennel, have papers. But it never occurred to us to fingerprint the slaves, unless the slavers are doing something I don't know about," he shrugs."

[08:42:20] Myriam-alyah Spires (noirnyte.spires): BB, why dont you do use of fingerprints in gor..and investigate the topic? we can have you do this in the scribe summit... *smiles* slave papers prepared for her, giving in detail an account of her capture and exchanges, complete with endorsements and copies of bills of sale. Some of the information such as Physicians' certifications and measurements and marks of identification had been compiled in the Nest and later transferred to the documents. 1. Scribe Summit 2026 Overview

• Dates & Location: Confirmed for September 25–27 in Var-Kor.

I. Upcoming Scribe Summit (September 25-27)

• Location Secured: Myriam-alyah Spires confirmed that Var-Kor will host the summit, and their builders will create a specific space for the three-day event.

• Scheduling: Myriam has already prepared the scheduling framework. Attendees can begin submitting their presentation ideas.

• Summit Theme & Marketing: The event currently needs a central theme and a graphic artist to design a promotional poster for distribution in libraries and scribe halls.

II. State of the Caste: City Updates

• Lara (Armand deFleur): Kira Edmonds has resumed her role as Assistant Head of the Scribes Caste. The city has updated its laws, including improved Free Women Couching Laws, and hired a new archaeologist, Victoria Courtenay. A proposal for a new Ambassadorial Team will be presented at the next Council meeting.

• Teletus (Bea Lael): Scribes are currently overburdened due to abandoned posts and the ongoing war with Selnar. Regent Abraham is on a long leave, and Commander Elvar has taken over military responsibilities. Bea plans to seek an audience with the Ubar to push for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.

• Tentium (Gaius Iulius Cornelius): The city currently has four scribes. Darian has been appointed Regent following the Ubar's recent injuries. Tentium has also opened a new Academy to preserve knowledge and educate newcomers.

• Port Cos (Aneesh Teardrop): The city has three scribes and is actively seeking a records keeper and an advocate. They are working alongside the Regent to establish a proper legal system and courthouse, and currently boast a unique library featuring physical books.

• Isfahan (Sabayna Kiseki no shukujo): Isfahan has officially left the Southern Trade Alliance but will remain in the GMA. The University of Isfahan is launching two new lecture series: Pani Medicine (Thursdays at noon) and Botany (Mondays at noon).

III. Special Announcements & Projects

• College of Lara: Lady Kati Evans completed and distributed a new comprehensive brochure detailing the offerings at the College of Lara, ensuring the institution continues to thrive according to Abraham’s wishes.

• Free Women Literature: Myriam-alyah Spires requested that anyone with writings relevant to or of interest to Free Women share them for a pet project.

• The Meaning of the Veil: Gaius Iulius Cornelius shared a short essay he authored regarding the meaning of the veil, providing copies to interested attendees.

[09:40:52] Armand deFleur (armand.wayfarer) clears his throat as he reads off the updates, "I'm happy to say that Kira Edmonds, Lara City Ambassador, has taken up the mantle of Assistant Head of Scribes Caste once more.  We have had some interest in residents choosing the Scribes caste, although no appointments as yet.  We still require the process to be followed before any scribe is officially a Scribe of Lara.  Our Investigator and Librarian remain on their sabbaticals at the moment.  We have also taken on an archaeologist,  Victoria Courtenay (Princess Bunny)."

[09:41:17] Armand deFleur (armand.wayfarer) continues as he says, "We did manage to get the laws updated and approved by the Council.  Kira is working on renewing current diplomatic agreements and treaties.  And this past Council meeting approved an improved variant of Free Women Couching Laws.  Being proposed at the next Council Meeting will be the creation of an Ambassadorial Team, consisting of our Administrator's Ambassador, city Ambassador and merchant Ambassador.  If anyone would like a listing of our current open positions, feel free to ask or stop by our office to get a copy from the dispenser."

Regrettably, some of them have abandoned the city with unfinished work; which has caused the other Scribes to fill in the all of the gaps. Those remaining must not only finish up certain legal cases, but also deal with new issues. Also, sadly, our Regent, my dear friend Abraham has gone on a long trip.... Though I am glad that he is resting now and on a nice trip to clear his mind... It's just that, he was like the thing that held the caste together in my city. So the Scribes in Teletus are extremely busy with a lot of work nowadays. I am honored that those that remain have honorably taken on the challenges. They are managing a great amount of tasks not only with the increase of people to live in the city, but also the war that Teletus has found its self in." smiled and nods as she finishes

[09:40] Armand deFleur (armand.wayfarer) clears his throat as he reads off the updates, "I'm happy to say that Kira Edmonds, Lara City Ambassador, has taken up the mantle of Assistant Head of Scribes Caste once more.  We have had some interest in residents choosing the Scribes caste, although no appointments as yet.  We still require the process to be followed before any scribe is officially a Scribe of Lara.  Our Investigator and Librarian remain on their sabbaticals at the moment.  We have also taken on an archaeologist,  Victoria Courtenay (Princess Bunny)."

[09:41] Armand deFleur (armand.wayfarer) continues as he says, "We did manage to get the laws updated and approved by the Council.  Kira is working on renewing current diplomatic agreements and treaties.  And this past Council meeting approved an improved variant of Free Women Couching Laws.  Being proposed at the next Council Meeting will be the creation of an Ambassadorial Team, consisting of our Administrator's Ambassador, city Ambassador and merchant Ambassador.  If anyone would like a listing of our current open positions, feel free to ask or stop by our office to get a copy from the dispenser."

However, I am well aware of certain things that the Scribes in my city are undertaking. Regrettably, some of them have abandoned the city with unfinished work; which has caused the other Scribes to fill in the all of the gaps. Those remaining must not only finish up certain legal cases, but also deal with new issues. Also, sadly, our Regent, my dear friend Abraham has gone on a long trip.... Though I am glad that he is resting now and on a nice trip to clear his mind... It's just that, he was like the thing that held the caste together in my city. So the Scribes in Teletus are extremely busy with a lot of work nowadays. I am honored that those that remain have honorably taken on the challenges. They are managing a great amount of tasks not only with the increase of people to live in the city, but also the war that Teletus has found its self in." smiled and nods as she finishes

The man whom delivered the war declaration letter to Selnar, also had abandoned his post and moved to another land. So.... as you can assume, this leave Teletus in a precarious position. Thankfully there is a new Commander now, Commander Elvar. He is taking over the various... responsibilities. "

I am his aide and the local magistrate. The other two ladies are Lady Zenobia, here, and Lady Electra. We also have a merchant magistrate in the city” he smiles “Also, we have opened this Academy, to preserve the knowledge of our world and help youngsters learn more about their own world” (OOC= we wish to help newcomers and the Italian Gorean Community grow but we are open to cooperation with international SIMS as well).
