2. Key Business & Discussions

A. "The Scribe Summits" Group Acquisition

8:00 AM Session: Abraham announced acquiring the rights and logo to the 11-year-old "Scribe Summits" group from founder Catalina Staheli. The initial intent was to use this as a tool to promote scribe activities.
5:00 PM Session: A debate ensued regarding the utility of maintaining two groups (the current SCoG and the legacy group).
Consensus: To avoid splitting communication channels, the caste will invite active members from the legacy group to join the main group, after which the old group will likely be dissolved.

B. "The Circle" Initiative (Teletus)

Presented at Both Sessions (Kati Evans):
- Concept: A project to teach Teletus city laws and traditions to the illiterate populace (lower castes/slaves) using oral formats like plays, poetry, and Socratic discourse.
- Timeline: Approved to begin in Jan/Feb.

C. Fair Planning (En'Kara / Sardar)

- (5 PM): A discussion was held regarding rotating the meeting location to Port Olni for December. Due to a misunderstanding regarding permission from the Ubar of Olni, this was tabled. Nuada offered Lara as a potential host for January.

The idea is to have an inclusive and productive fair in which we promote Scribe roleplay throughout Gor, and in which we have a variety of presenters covering the gamut of cities, camps and groups representing scribes.

For those of you who don't already know, the dates for the fair for 2026 are as follows: Road to the Fair for Monday March 9th to Thursday March 12th then the Fair opens on Friday March 13th to Sunday March 22nd. [08:28] Kati Evans: I have been working on a project I call the The Circle -- the Gorean law education initiative for the city of Teletus -- and have received the approval.

[08:28] Kati Evans: The Circle is a proposed initiative designed to bridge the critical gap between the written Laws of Teletus and the illiterate populace. While we, the Scribes, guard the Scrolls, a law unread is a law often broken through ignorance rather than malice.

This project will establish a series of public, oral gatherings where the foundational laws and traditions of our city are taught to the lower castes. Moving beyond dry recitation, The Circle will utilize accessible formats—such as instructive plays, poetry, and Socratic discourse—to ensure comprehension among those unable to read.

At this point the backbone of the Circle is created. I have a draft for all 13 weeks of the 65 sessions and plan to start looking for people that would be willing to assist in the process discussion and planning. With the thought of starting this in the city in January or February, with it running into April. There will need to be about 8 people involved each week in the production. "The Scribe Summit" Group: Abraham Jacobson announced he was given ownership of an 11-year-old group called "The Scribe Summit." The scribes discussed its utility. The consensus was that maintaining a second group splits communication. 📜 Meeting Minutes Summary: Scribe & Legal Caste Gathering

This meeting, hosted in the delegation and training room for Teletus, focused on welcoming attendees, discussing professional updates within the Scribe/Legal caste, city-specific developments, and upcoming community initiatives.

Darian el Nairad: Continues to teach scribe lessons and is heavily dedicated to the "Gazetta of Moons" newspaper, which reaches over a thousand visitors monthly. He noted that while magistrates are abundant in cities, regular scribes are less so. He also reminded attendees that the Great Gallery of Goreans is open for visits and photo submissions.
Kati Evans: As AHOC (Assistant Head of Caste) and Magistrate, she is working on "THE CIRCLE," an innovative teaching method involving a circle of stools. She confirmed a Mock Trial is scheduled for the upcoming Sunday at 9 AM, featuring Tyan Cabot.
Armand Wayfarer (Lara Head Scribe):
- Announced his promotion to Head of Caste for Scribes in the city of Lara, with Kira remaining as Assistant Head (due to continued absence).
- New personnel additions: Kreg Ember (additional Ambassador), Kadluk (Lead Advocate/Chief Prosecutor), Pagedale (Investigator), Ryan Rothchild (Head Librarian), and Lanh (Praetor).

Karisima Stein: Announced the conclusion of her season of retirement and her path home to Port Olni. She requested that Port Olni be considered for inclusion in the Scribe meeting rotation and stated she will continue to offer guidance and mentorship.
Trygg Tyran (Oasis of Two Scimitars):
- The Scribe caste is small but busy.
- The city is currently dealing with a blackmail situation targeting their Administrator from a treacherous northern village.
- Legal action was taken against a thief, who was sentenced to five months in the mines.
- Property threats against city slaves have been noted.
- Announced the upcoming city holiday, Founders Day (November 30), to commemorate the city's rebuilding after a devastating sandstorm. The event will include the induction of three "Champions of Scimitars" and slave dancing by the NICE troupe.
Davor O'Donnell: Acknowledged his current stay at the Oasis of the Two Scimitars while traveling.
Caroline and Catherine Gallius: Abraham Jacobson announced that both sisters are setting up to be Free Companioned soon in different cities. Caroline Gallius, Ambassador of Teletus, confirmed this, noting that she hopes her work builds strong bonds and strengthens Gor. Her upcoming Free Companion status means Abraham will temporarily take over the Ambassador role for Teletus.

Earlier this year I completed all of my courses under the instructions and mentor-ship of Abraham and graduated the Merchant Law courses in the Spring of this year with a certificate. I not only learned about all of the Merchant Laws and the new ones on a regular basis, but I have learned about all Gor Laws taught to Scribes as well as various caste codes of different castes. We meet with the Head Scribe, who also serves as magistrate, on a regular basis. Our Administrator currently is being blackmailed by the leader of a treacherous village in the north, and we are wrestling with the decision as to whether to negotiate a solution diplomatically, or take the risk and expense of military action. We have put a thief to work in the mines for five months at the direction of the legal representatives of the city. There has also be property threats against the slaves of the city by a group unknown to me. We will have to wait and see how that pans out.
