📜 Scribes' Meeting Summary: Scribe's Tower - Imperial Ar
This meeting, hosted by Abraham Jacobson, covered a mix of professional updates, a historical review of the Physicians Caste of Gor (PCOG), and a discussion about the future of the Enkara Fair.
Key Personnel Updates
Dahlia Black has become the Head of Caste (HOC) for the Scribes in Imperial Ar.
Bea Lael has not yet set up her Office as a Merchant Magistrate in Besnit but plans to do so within the next month.
AnaBelle is still searching for a city with sufficient roleplayers (RPers) and was invited by Dahlia Black to consider a stay in Imperial Ar to get a feel for the city and the Scribes' caste there.
Guest Introductions
The meeting had two notable guests:
Nuada Blatonn, the 1st Physician of Imperial Ar, who was interested in the Scribes' work and possibly news about his former teacher, Kailla. Nuada had to depart early.
Vincent Dream, a Taurentian of Imperial Ar, who attended to "keep an eye on things." Vincent also had to depart early.
Historical Review of PCOG and Scribe Groups
Abraham Jacobson reviewed the history and evolution of the Physicians Caste of Gor (PCOG), drawing parallels to the Scribes' group:
The Early State: Initially, PCOG lacked formal schools, teaching, mentoring, or information sharing. Knowledge was territorial, and virtually anyone could claim the tag. The early Scribe groups similarly lacked training and posted information.
The Group's Founding: The current Scribes group began with five people after Abraham was asked to start it. It was founded to fill the void left by the Gor campus and the departure of key educators like Janette and Victoria (Abraham's mother).
The Key to Growth: The group's success, particularly gaining 40 new members at the last Enkara Fair, was attributed to offering teaching and providing a way for Scribes in remote places to meet others.
What Worked: Setting up a mentoring program and creating the Gorean Knowledge Physicians Test (designed as an incentive to read the books) were seen as positive steps. The development of a skills set to record RPs and experience levels was also highlighted.
What Went Wrong: An early attempt to implement a Council of 12 Elders turned into a "nightmare." The Elders' perceived arrogance and attempts to dictate caste organization to sim owners led to threats of a ban, and the council was dissolved. Abraham noted this history as a lesson on the need to work carefully with cities.
External Criticism: The group has been attacked in forums, with untruths about its purpose. Abraham reaffirmed that the group's goal is to assist, not to be an "over all entity" over all Physicians/Scribes, though many sims now request their people follow the group's standards.
Discussion on the Enkara Fair (2026)
KAR raised a concern that the Enkara Fair for 2026 might be in jeopardy as it was "up in the air" and it was unclear if the original sim or organizer (Feather/Flower) was available.
Trygg Tyran provided good news: the Ubara of Turmus (a former co-sponsor) assured him the sponsoring group was planning to meet soon.
Dahlia Black offered that she and her companion, Hector, would be heavy monetary contributors, specifically for sim rentals, if needed to ensure the Fair continues.
Abraham mentioned being attacked in chat last year and accused of "taking over" the Enkara. The attendees offered strong words of support, urging him to ignore the criticism and continue his work.
Would you like me to focus on a specific topic from this summary, such as the Gorean Knowledge Physicians Test or the plans for the Enkara Fair?

Log:
[08:04] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Are there any changes about with this group
[08:04] Armand Wayfarer raises hand.
[08:04] AnaBelle (anabellemasons): Thank you
[08:05] AnaBelle (anabellemasons): Tal all
[08:05] Bea Lael (lifepath) smiled, "Oh thank you..... Greeetings everyone." she hurry to sit
[08:06] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin) gave a most gracious and polite dip of her chin as she saw Trygg enter the tower as well.
"Always a joy to see you Sir Trygg."
She would then give her gracious dip of her chin to the newcomers entering.
"Greetings to you dear Ladies, it's quite an honor to have you with us this morning."
Now lending to silence as Abraham commenced the start of the meeting, lifting her wax and wooden tablet, with her stylus ready to go to transcribe all to be said.
[08:07] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Oh Lady black has become the HOC of caste for this city
[08:07] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): So two of you have moved up the ladder
[08:08] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Not sure if that is a promotion or punishment
[08:08] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): smiles
[08:08] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): AnaBelle where are you working
[08:08] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran) nods cordially to Dahlia and pays attention.
[08:10] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Bea have you set up your Office as a Merchant Magistrate yet
[08:10] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin) smiled ever kindly behind her veils, and gave a grateful bow of her head towards Sir Abraham's words, as well as towards Sir Trygg.
[08:10] AnaBelle (anabellemasons): I am currently still trying to find a City that is a fit for me
[08:10] Davor O'Donnell (davoroflaura): "Tal all!"
[08:10] AnaBelle (anabellemasons) many cities not enough RPers
[08:10] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Tal Davor welcome
[08:11] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin) gave a nod of polite to Sir Davor. "Tal to you Sir, it's an honor to have you join us."
[08:12] Davor O'Donnell (davoroflaura): smiles. "Thank you."
[08:12] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): There are the top four now , but the mornings are always an issue. The north has more morning people due to the places they come from. But its customs are different.
[08:12] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): so if a scribe in the morning its rough
[08:13] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Tal Ar. The best map maker in gor
[08:14] Arealius (arealius.barbosa) smiles, "Thank you sir."
[08:14] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran) nods in respect.
[08:14] Arealius (arealius.barbosa): "The oldest anyway."
[08:14] Bea Lael (lifepath) shakes her head to Abraham. "I have not set up my law firm practice yet, but will do so within the next month
[08:14] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran): "Our librarian will be contacting you, Ar."
[08:14] Bea Lael (lifepath) It will be in Besnit
[08:14] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin) looked over and saw the new arrivals enter.
"Tal Sir, it's an honor to have you join us this morning."
As well seeing the 1st Physician join them.
"Tal to you Sir Nuada. Sir Nuada here is the 1st Physician of Ar, he'll be joining us this morning, as he has been interested in the work of us Scribes. It's an honor to have you join us Sir."
[08:15] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran) nods respectfully at Nuada
[08:15] Arealius (arealius.barbosa) nods in appreciation to the Lady Scribe.
[08:15] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): its funny i have been to cities like Rover, its a horrible build has been active for years. People desire contact with other more than a good build
[08:16] Nuada V. Blátǫnn (nuada.soothsayer) bowed his head "That and also I heard of possible news about Kailla. She was my Teacher many years ago."
[08:17] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin) "Ah yes, and Sir Vincent as well, a Taurentian of Ar, thank you for joining as well Sir."
Then took glance over to the Lady Anabelle.
"Lady AnaBelle, you are always more than welcome to have a stay about our Inn. Currently as I have taken over our caste, there have been changes to follow, and I am hopes to build us up strong. I am usually about from the rise of the lar-torvis to dawn of the moons. We also have our Legal Scribes here whom are about throughout most of the day. You are more than welcome to stay a bit and have a feel for the city and caste here."
[08:19] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Two things , i want to look at something kar said to me this week, and two I brough the letter Kailla made about the history of her group, and look at what they did well as a group and what did not work so well. She was there at the beginning and it has become a force in Gor. Now we do not have all the cool rp they have as far as operations ect but we can look at how they opperated and their viewpoint
[08:19] Vincent Hawke walks into the room, moving close to his friend. With recent events he figures it's best to be where large groups of people are, in case he would be needed. he nods to Dahlia "Tal Lady, just thought I'd keep an eye on things."
[08:19] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): But does anyone have other items before i start?
[08:21] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Ok i want to look at where we were a couple of year ago and PCOG when it began
[08:21] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): PCOG has gone through several phases. With less then 10 in the group we set out to determine what we wanted it to be. In those days there was no schools, no teaching, no mentoring, no sharing of information. Knowledge was very territorial. "I learned you can too." No one was helping new people nor creating rp. There were no exams, no forms, no help. Anyone could put on the tag and call themselves physicians. We had no apprentices.
[08:22] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): We were not that bad but there were three scribe groups and none posted, not offered training.
[08:22] Armand Wayfarer nods, remembering how it was years ago and stories told by his Physician friends.
[08:23] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Most we full of people who long ago left gor
[08:23] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): nyone could put on the tag and call themselves physicians. We had no apprentices.
[08:23] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): That i can say we have the issue with
[08:24] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Skylar and my mom offered most of the teaching once a year
[08:24] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): the Gor campus kept saying there were not teachers available
[08:24] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): so they offered nothing for scribes
[08:25] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): That is why this group was started with five people
[08:25] Armand Wayfarer looks to Abraham, "I did finish my courses at the Gorean Campus before it finally pulled the Scribe classes. I think that was because Janette left."
[08:26] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Firefly came to me in Dec and asked if I could start a group for scribes, i hesitated due to not being sure if it would work
[08:27] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): But in Jan we began holding meeting. yes when Jannette went to dust, it left two souces of teaching , Skylar and Victoria
[08:28] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin) "I miss Victoria dearly, she is no longer around as much either, usually just for the summits."
[08:28] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): She is my mom, she is going through things in rl
[08:29] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin) "Yes you've shared this with me, please send my kindest regards to her."
[08:29] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): So not on also she told me she is going to come back , but not as Victoria, she ask me to keep teaching but she got attacked too much
[08:30] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): We discovered with SC0G* there was an interest
[08:30] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): It grew slowly, but the summits have been a main source of new members
[08:30] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin) furrowed her brows at Victoria being attacked, curious in what context, but would make note to ask him later.
[08:31] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): At Enkara this year we jumped 40 new members
[08:31] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): But we offered something, teaching
[08:32] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): and scribe in remote places got to meeting other scribes
[08:32] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): So PCOG began to flourish when I brought some of it to SL. But in the early organization some things were done wrong and we had a council of 12 Elders, which turned out to be a nightmare. Some were very arrogant and opinionated. They would march into sims telling sim owners how they had to organize the caste.
[08:32] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): This was suggest last year by several
[08:33] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): And a trap for us
[08:33] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Sims were ready to ban us from their sims so all the elders were removed.
[08:33] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Comments
[08:35] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): So how we work with cites has to be done carefully
[08:35] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): as Prog discovered
[08:35] Armand Wayfarer raises his hand
[08:35] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): yes Armand
[08:36] Armand Wayfarer looks to Abraham as he says to the colleagues, "If you wish a place to teach, it was Kit Boggan's final wish to create an Academy in Lara. It is built now, but I've heard nothing yet about how it will be run. I know they will look for educators."
[08:37] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Kit is gone , did not realize that
[08:38] Armand Wayfarer nods his head sadly, "He passed a bit over two hands ago."
[08:38] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): brb
[08:38] Nuada V. Blátǫnn (nuada.soothsayer): ((I'm sorry, I need to pop away, I'll try to make the evening edition))
[08:38] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin): Tyt
[08:38] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin): ((No worries, see you then.))
[08:39] Armand Wayfarer: (( Dated 18 Oct 2025: It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that Matthew, the typist behind Kit, took his last earthly breath tonight around 8:28 SLT. He coded around 10;05 our time and they were able to bring him back but he was not able to survive.
I do not have any words right now other than we are all in mourning but I commit to you all to carry on Kit's vision of Lara.
Please remember his mom and his 2 step sisters during this time.
Magnus L Bane ))
[08:40] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin): ((Oh this is so sad to hear, so many times a message like this has come across in Gor in the past two years is absolute heartbreaking. May he truly rest in peace.))
[08:40] Armand Wayfarer: (( We're still reeling but getting on with things ))
[08:40] Vincent Hawke: ((Gotta head out too sorry!))
[08:40] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): take care Vincent
[08:40] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): So in the spirit of the books we set up a mentoring program and looked at ways for people to earn there way into the caste.
[08:41] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): we have discussed that
[08:41] Armand Wayfarer nods his head in agreement to Abraham.
[08:41] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Another thing was to create a way to verify a persons Gorean Knowledge and understanding of the book. That was when I created the Gorean Knowledge Physicians Test. It was not to be used so much as a grading tool but an incentive to read and learn about the physicians in the books. I always saw it as a treasure hunt for the stories through searching for the answers in search engines and the quotes that could be found on physicians.
[08:42] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): today i am not sure if people care about understanding of the book
[08:43] Armand Wayfarer: "As a basis for role play , I think it's essential, whether you're by the book or Gorean evolved."
[08:43] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): I agree
[08:43] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): That is why i give a lot of the context from the books when teaching
[08:44] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): The next thing that I started was the skills set. It was designed to help show people's rp and to record their rp's so they had something to share with their sims on their level of experience.
[08:44] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): I have been testing more when i teach, but not the justification
[08:45] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): The Justification questions looked like trival presuit
[08:45] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): I am lookilng at application that we will use in our work
[08:46] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): The questions like how gorians write never really showed a lot
[08:46] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Now the order contracts are normally signed by Ambassadores does
[08:47] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): We were attacked in forums and often untruths were said as to what we were doing or stood for. The biggest one was we were never to be an over all entity over all physicians. We were there to assist. We however did become the one that many sims requested their physicians to follow.
[08:47] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): and we have been accused or will be of this
[08:48] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Our purpose will be attaced
[08:51] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Any way before i lose time, I want to turn to what kar talked about this week to me. But i wanted first to look at PROG since we are gong through some of the same quesitons and growth pains
[08:51] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Kar can you explain what you said bout Enkara to me and our group
[08:56] ꝀȺɌ (karisima.stein): I spoke recently with Abraham regarding the Fair. At this time, it’s unclear whether the original sim is still available. If someone is able to reach out to Flower to confirm, that would be greatly appreciated.
Should the sim no longer be accessible—and if Flower is unable to continue hosting the Fair—perhaps we, as a community, can rise to the occasion and carry it forward. It won’t be easy. It will require commitment, coordination, and care. But the Fair is a cherished tradition, and all of Gor looks forward to it each year.
[08:56] ꝀȺɌ (karisima.stein): I believe her name is flower. I could be wrong with the name. I suck at remembering names.
[08:58] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin): Oh yes, Feather, she generally facilitates the fair. I believe my Companion is acquainted with her, I shall ask him to do so. I can absolutely state, that he and I would be able to be heavy contributers monetarily if that is needed for this.
[08:59] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Other comments, I do know Feather begain fundraising in Jan , with a jail event where people were locked up for money
[08:59] ꝀȺɌ (karisima.stein): Thank you, Lady Dahlia. I was told recently that the fair is up in the air as in no one knows if it will happen in 2026.
[09:00] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran): I asked the Ubara of Turmus, which co-sponsored the event, and she said that the group who sponsored it last year had not met yet. She did assure me that they were planning to meet soon.
[09:00] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): that is good news
[09:00] ꝀȺɌ (karisima.stein): Very good news.
[09:01] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran): We will see how it goes.
[09:02] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin): Oh that will be most tragic if it does not take place. Yes I know Lady Selia and her city took part in it, even as they were going through their own hardship. I shall speak to Marlenus here as well, to see what can come of them to aid in this, and any other colleagues that come to mind that can be of any help at all. But Hector and I can definitely contribute with sim rentals.
[09:02] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): I was attacked at an event in chat saying that i took over enkara last year. Oddly, i did not talk to the organizers, it was others who asked for slots for speakers
[09:02] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): But i hope we can be a part again this year
[09:03] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin): The Scribe summit was an outright success at the Enkara, many enjoyed it, if you were attacked it was due to others feeling inadequate in their own participation in the same manner. I hope you continue to lead it as you did.
[09:03] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): You lead, i just help coordinate
[09:04] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): Without your contributions it would have not been anything
[09:04] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): ok lets look at this in Jan
[09:04] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin): It's an effort from us all yes, we are a selfless caste who truly appreciates knowledge and each other, we support each other, it's tell tale from even these meetings we hold. What other's have to say of that is no concern of ours.
[09:05] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran): Yeah, Abraham. Consider the source
[09:05] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): It was in front of a lot of key city owners
[09:05] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): So i was not happy
[09:05] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): But , life happens
[09:05] Armand Wayfarer: "I gave you giving a bosk dropping about other people's opinions of me long ago."
[09:06] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): grins
[09:06] Armand Wayfarer: you=up^
[09:06] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): We are done unless you have other items
[09:06] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin): Please reach out to us when this happens to you, you should never stand alone to feel this way, and if those city owners are worth their own merit they as well wouldn't take the words of fools.
[09:06] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): They should have shut her down
[09:07] ꝀȺɌ (karisima.stein): Everyone holds an opinion—some offer insight, others cast venom.
Let it pass. Stay your course. Keep moving forward.
[09:07] Abraham Jacobson (abrahamjacobs2): thank you all for coming
[09:07] Armand Wayfarer: "Thank you, Abraham, for organizing these meetings."
[09:07] Davor O'Donnell (davoroflaura): "Yes, thank you for all your work."
[09:08] Armand Wayfarer grins, "and thank you Lady Dahlia for taking notes."
[09:08] Armand Wayfarer: "At least you know your colleagues appreciate your efforts"
[09:08] Dahlia Black Clegane (voxsin) "It was an honor having you all here. You are most welcome Sir Armand, these should be going out in just a moment per Sir Abraham in the groups."
