Key Discussion Points
1. Scribe Summit 2026 Overview
Dates & Location: Confirmed for September 25–27 in Var-Kor.
Presentations: There are 26 lecture slots to fill. Current commitments include Abraham (2 per day), Myriam (1 per day), Lady El (3 total), and Aldae (Gorean Language). 13 hours remain open.
Guest Speaker: The group discussed inviting a keynote speaker to open the event. Fogaban declined direct involvement. Cor of Selnar was suggested as an alternative.
2. Summit Activities & Themes
OOC After-Party: A proposal was made to hold a 2-hour OOC dance on the Sunday following the event. While preliminary voting showed support (7 out of 9), concerns were raised about ensuring the event remains strictly OOC without mixing IC elements.
Event Theme: Several titles were proposed for the summit poster, including:
Scholarship in Our Gorean World?
The Gorean Scholarship 2026
The Scribe Summit 10777 CA
Bridges of Ink and Stone
Bridges of Ink and Quills
The Concord of Quills 10777
Decorations & Ceremonies: Aldae suggested creating city flags or posters with informational notecards to decorate the walls, as well as holding an opening ceremony where attendees carry the flags of their respective cities.
3. Future SCoG Meetings
Vougan suggested Ar's Station as a future meeting venue, noting it has a suitable space previously used for teachings by Lady Kati.
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus offered Thunder Mountain as a future venue.
Action Items & Next Steps
Trygg & Myriam: Develop and distribute a ballot to the wider SCoG membership to vote on the keynote speaker, the OOC after-party, and the summit theme.
Trygg: Compile and distribute a list of past presentation topics from previous summits and Sardar Fairs to help inspire members to claim the remaining 13 lecture slots.
Myriam: Design three poster options based on the suggested themes to be voted on at the next meeting.
Trygg: Coordinate with Vougan and Marcus regarding hosting the upcoming June and July meetings at Ar's Station and Thunder Mountain.
All Members: Consider topics for presentations and vote on the ballot once distributed.
Next Meeting: May 27, 2026.
