1. Scribe Summit 2026 (September 25–27)
Venue Change: Due to the destruction of Var-Kor, the summit has officially moved to Thunder Mountain, hosted by Marcus. Posters featuring the new venue were distributed for promotion.
Schedule & Speaker Roster:
Recruitment has been slow over the summer; two presentation slots reopened following the departure of Sir Aldae.
Active speaker recruitment will ramp up in August.
Abraham Jacobson is following up with Victoria Forstander regarding her proposed class topic.
Updates are pending from Lady Skylar (Valaris, formerly Var-Kor) and Jessika (Teletus).
2. Upcoming SCoG Meetings & Venues
Evening Session: July 22, 2026 at 5:00 PM SLT (Same location in Lara).
August Venue: Meetings on August 5 will be hosted in the city of Teletus.
3. Besnit Symposium Conflict (September 11–13)
William Carver announced a 3-day Besnit Symposium of Scribes (featuring lectures and a live Mock Trial) set two weeks prior to the main Scribe Summit.
Group Decision: The consensus is to maintain the original September 25–27 dates for the main summit. SCoG members plan to attend the Besnit event to network, recruit prospective presenters, and promote the upcoming summit.

The first, and in my view the most important, is that we have changed the venue for the Scribe Summit. The city of Var-Kor has disappeared into the sea, or disintegrated in a flame death, whatever the case may be. So Marcus of Thunder Mountain has graciously offered his city as a venue, so we will be convening on September 25, 26 and 27 at Thunder Mountain for the summit."

This symposium is dedicated to the pursuit and sharing of knowledge, bringing together Scribes from cities across Gor to exchange ideas, discuss the traditions and responsibilities of the Scribe Caste, and strengthen the bonds that unite those who preserve the written word.
While the symposium is centered upon the Scribe Caste, all are welcome to attend. Warriors, Merchants, Builders, Physicians, Initiates, Administrators, and citizens alike will find value in the wisdom and experience shared throughout the event.
## 📖 Symposium Presentations
Throughout the three-day symposium, distinguished Scribes will present lectures and discussions on topics including:
* Gorean law and legal traditions
* History and culture
* Administration and governance
* Record keeping and archives
* Education and mentorship
* Research and scholarship
* Other subjects chosen by our guest speakers
Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions, engage in thoughtful discussion, and exchange ideas with Scribes from across the Gorean world.
## ⚖️ Featured Event: Mock Trial
A highlight of the symposium will be a live **Mock Trial**, demonstrating the Gorean judicial process from investigation through judgment. Guests will witness the duties of Scribes, Magistrates, advocates, witnesses, and citizens as a fictional legal case unfolds before the assembly.
Whether you are new to Gorean roleplay or an experienced participant, this presentation promises to be both educational and entertaining.
