Caste Progress & Status Updates (Abraham's Challenge: "What have you done to further the caste?"):
Abraham Jacobson: Announced he was voted in as HoC for Teletus and is on a hiring spree. He secured Imperial Ar as the location for the next monthly meeting.
Armand Wayfarer (Lara): Reported efforts to bring legitimacy to the Magistrate post in Lara, ensuring law is "impartial and equal," without emotion. Noted that their HoC is ill, but new lower scribes have joined.
Saku Takahashi: Had nothing to report.
Kati Evans (Teletus): Abraham praised her "amazing job" assisting the city with establishing the Ubara's advisor role and announced he asked her to be the AHOC (Assistant Head of Caste), noting her dedication with 13 hours/day working for the city. NOTE: The role of Ubara's Council was eliminated when the Ubara stepped down as part of the ruling body of Teletus and James became Regent.
Trygg Tyran (Two Scimitars): Reported on assisting merchants with trade agreements and structural improvements for the Gorean Merchants Association. Mentioned a recent sandstorm delayed their Founders Day feast, now rescheduled. Noted an increase in crime (merchants spirited away) being investigated by a Warrior. Offered to send a dispatch regarding their city laws and future trade agreement possibilities with Teletus.
Bea Lael (Besnit): Announced plans to establish her merchant law firm in Besnit before the end of next month. She is looking for a merchant magistrate.
Tyan Cabot: Reported assisting in the collection of accurate city records and promoting documentation, mentioning 10 forms received.
Scribe Codes and Debates:
Caste Codes: The modified Scribe Caste Codes (or Ethics) Rev 2 were finalized based on summit suggestions and distributed by Shannondoa during the meeting.
Merchant Magistrate Debate: A debate hosted by Cor in Selnar on Friday at 6 PM was announced. The topic is: "The advancement of civilisation owes more to the enterprise of Merchants than to the scholarship of Scribes." Abraham expressed hope to attend and lament that Cor does not collaborate with SCoG.
Future Planning (En'Kara & Meetings):
En'Kara Fair: The status of En'Kara sponsorship is "up in the air" due to the coordinator (Feather) being sick. Trygg volunteered to ask Violet (and possibly Turmus, a co-sponsor last year) about sponsoring the sim/location. Abraham suggested the SCoG might need to organize its own event if no external sponsor is found.
New Recruits: Abraham announced that by the end of next month, three more Ambassadors and three more Magistrates would graduate from training.
Next Meeting: The next meeting is confirmed for November 5th at Imperial Ar. There will be no meeting on the last Wednesday of October due to a major holiday.

Our Head Scribe Astary Pendragon meets quarterly with the caste, and that meeting is set for some weeks ahead

[08:27] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran): A sandstorm blew through the oasis a couple of days ago, forcing us to postpone our city holiday Founders Day, a celebration, ironically it would seem now, of the reopening of Two Scimitars when it was destroyed by the great sandstorm of 10,165. That feast has been rescheduled.

[08:27] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran): We have been experiencing an increase in crime, with some of our merchants, in particular, being spirited away by suspects unproven. Our investigator, who is a warrior, not a scribe, is working with the Praetor on the cases.

[08:28] Trygg Tyran (tryggtyran): We have firmly established city laws, both criminal and civil, which the Scribe Caste enforces with the cooperation of the warriors, but we are an isolated oasis and somewhat lawless, subject to raids by various bandit groups. Still we are generally safe inside the city walls.
